::DIY:: Make Your Own Cupcake Stand

Who doesn’t love a delicious cupcake?  I would definitely take a cupcake over a regular cake any day, and with my 30th birthday approaching next Saturday, a birthday party is definitely in store!  I’m a big kid at heart, and got the idea of a “Pimp my Cupcake” station from another blog, I just got excited about all the possibilities!  A crafter at heart, I thought I would share with you a simple way to make your own cupcake stand for less than $8.  You could easily pay $30 in the stores, and this is a simple, inexpensive and completely customizable cupcake stand!  Stay tuned this week we will be posting all the fun little details we are doing for the birthday!  It will be fun!

Needed:

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Decorated Paper*
  • Ribbon*
  • Styrofoam Circles, Varying Sizes (Four small circles, and three different sizes to create layers)

Directions:

  1. Take the largest circle and wrap with ribbon (be careful with the hot glue gun!)
  2. Take two of the smallest circles and glue together.  Wrap with coordinating ribbon and glue to the middle of the larger disk
  3. Take the medium size circle and follow directions above
  4. Take the remaining two small circles and follow directions above
  5. Add final circle to the top after following directions above
  6. Embellish with decorative papers or embellishments, we used little bows.

** Small apologies in the background of the photos, we are doing renovations!
