Reward & Consequence Jar

Working with our son, has posed some behavioral challenges, and working out ways that are best for discipline has been a little nervewracking.  One thing that we started today was a reward & consequence jar, it seems to be working well, as he doesn’t want the consequences, because the rewards are so awesome.  He helped me come up with ideas, and some I was very surprised by when he chose them, but we added them anyway!

We went to the dollar store and got two plastic buckets, not jars only because they are breakable.  We decorated them with a simple designed label with a cartoon character of him, and tied with ribbon, and added some fun beads for character.  He chose all the beads and had fun stringing them on there.

We also had him sign a behavior contract as well, which I read to him twice so he would understand.
